Kentish Flats Wind Farm is owned by Swedish energy company VATTENFALL and consists
of 30 vestas V90 3Megawatts turbines and started production in 2005.
Situated 8.5km from Whitstable in the Thames Estuary.Is is serviced
by North Sea Logistics purpose built catamaran (Celtic Storm) and a Delta 8
Meter Water Jet Rib (Kentish Flyer).These vessels will used for the
operation and maintenance 5 year warranty period on behalf of Vestas.
The design of the wind turbines allows for minimum service,
but each wind turbine will need two annual service inspections
In connection with maintenance inspections,
For this purpose an operation and maintenance facility will be
constructed at Whitstable Harbour.
The operation and maintenance facility will be used as base for
the routine monitoring, management and maintenance of the wind farm.
